Heart the Lover by Lily King

A working-class college student in the '80s, two brilliant best friends and one love triangle. Lily King writing about first love is a treat.

The take: Loved Writers & Lovers, so I had to pick this up. I read it quickly and really loved some parts (sucker for a college flashback), but sometimes it felt like sadness porn. I enjoyed it, but it felt gratuitously painful.
