The Calamity Club by Kathryn Stockett

From the author of The Help, finally. It's 1933 in Mississippi. An 11-year-old in a girls' orphanage, her mother with nothing left to lose, and an outspoken bookkeeper team up on a plan to get back what's theirs.

The take: Easy, entertaining listening. Incredible audiobook. Not in my top 10 for the year, but I read it in a week, which is an accomplishment.
